Gromit or grommet?

This morning I have to take Zoe in for a minor operation (myringotomy for all you medical folk).

Basically, she is going to have some ear tubes, called grommets, inserted which will improve her hearing. Not of course to be confused with Wallace's magnificent pooch, Gromit! Rather confusing that the world's favourite dog and these tubes are homophones.
