Going native

The longer I live here, the more Swedified I become. At least in some ways. The population density in the Nordic region is rather low and people develop rather special needs in terms of personal space.

If I go to the beach with Ulrika in the summer and there are two people, a dog and a flock of seagulls, she will suggest that we go somewhere less crowded. My own experience is from La Playa de Borracho in Benidorm where the whole beach is so crowded that even an extra half inch of space is bitterly fought over.

On Saturday, it was a gorgeous day and we went for a walk in Nacka Reservat, the green area which we live right next door to. Kai was on his long distance skis (and doing very well too). When we got to the lake, it was quite impossible to see where the land ended and the water began and a stranger to the area could have easily wandered out onto it, without even realising they were on ice,not dry land.

Here's a photo of Kai on his skis on the lake.As you can see, there were not exactly hordes of people. Nevertheless, I found myself thinking: Yikes! it's crowded here today.I wish there weren't so many people here!

I think I need to be forcibly repatriated to Blighty to regain my Englishness!
