There's no getting round the fact. Hospitals are rather depressing places, however kind and helpful the staff may be. I can well understand that it's a less than cheerful experience for Ulrika to be sitting in a hospital room all day. Yesterday at least we found an oasis-like park behind the hospital building where we could sit in the sun and have a coffee which was a tonic.
Mercifully, my dear collegue, Gary, has realised that this is a rather gloomy time for me. So, what have I been proofreading this week? Reports on: fatal traffic accidents in Iran (their traffic mortality figures are horrifying); suicidal farmers in India; and today, as the cherry on the cake, suicides among pregnant women and post-natal mothers. A laugh a minute!
Unfortunately he hasn't received any texts that needed proofreading about cuddly, furry bunnies frolicking in the sunshine!
