It is a well-known fact among my pals that in (at least!) one area I am genetically deficient: I am an Englishman who has no knowledge or interest in football. One one historic occasion I tried to watch a match with Ian. I was fast asleep before the end of the first innings.
I realise that this is my great loss and I will be missing a hours of drama and excitement in the next four weeks.Gary, Duncan, Ian, Kieron and t'lads are all intensely preoccupied with some sort of prediction table, the mind-boggling complexity of which leaves me gob-smacked.
Ian sent me this, this which will doubtless be very useful in the weeks to come:

I am not a quitter and will doubtless give it another go. Sweden are playing Liechtenstein this evening,I believe, so I'll give it a try.
Zoe, at least, is getting into the spirit of things and kicking a football around the flat. Her money is clearly on Argentina. She and Messy have a lot in common!
