Blogspam and dogscam

Poor Gary! My colleague, Mr Watson, is rightly proud of having set up a blogsite for the company: www.watsonlanguage.se. Witty, informative, perceptive, useful: do visit it!

Earlier in the week he mailed me, delighted that someone in Mexico had added a comment to one of his blogposts. Disappointment rapidly followed! A closer look revealed that we had received blogspam: a computer-generated comment.

No, there wasn't really a chap in Tijuana who was interested in what Gary had to say about the classification of different kids of poo. Surprising really!

Personally, I'm constantly getting messages to tell me: Sexy Russian girl in skimpy underwear seeks marriage with you.

Now I know: it's probably just a computer in Bolivia with a wacky sense of humour.

On the subject of poo,if the bottom falls out of language consulting, Gary already has his eye on new sources of revenue. During the week,he was listening to a programme about a man who makes jewelry out of doggy droppings. This extraordinary chap has discovered that if you put dog poo in the microwave (as,of course, one often does!)it became hard, crystalline and rather beautiful. And perfect for making jewelry.

Watson, thrusting entrepreneur that he is,immediately saw the business possibilities of this. I feel sorry for Cazpar, the Watson family dog, who will clearly now have a production schedule to keep to. We have a doggy dagis here in Kärrtorp, and I fear that Gary will soon be sending me over to them to negotiate a contract for the purchase of their canine crap.

Talk about being in the doghouse!

  1. As an avid photographer, I'm more tempted by this innovative use of said substance - as props for the photos in a decidedly weird calendar: http://www.stupid.com/fun/POOC09.html
